Premier's reading challenge

The CHALLENGE is on and you are invited to join in! The Premier's reading challenge is not a competition but rather a drive to encourage greater involvement in reading. The Reading Challenge is being promoted at Hilliard again this year with a big thank you to Mrs Jennifer Collie, Teacher Librarian, who is once again coordinating the event.

Points of importance

  1. The Permission Note (which is accompanied by an explanatory letter) must be completed and returned to the class teacher in order for students to participate.

  2. Each student is encouraged to read a set number of books, based on their year level (approximately 20 books).

  3. Teacher and/or parent may sign the record form which will be provided to the student at the time the permission note is returned.

  4. Online registration will be done at school.

  5. Reading period is end of May to beginning of September.

  6. Certificates will be presented in October.

  7. No ‘prescriptive’ booklist. NO COST.

All we seek from our parents is lots of encouragement.  Come, join us on our reading journey.
